The “Local Lads” are an exciting new lyrics and music team who have recently come together to form a recording group among friends and colleagues within the industry.
They have already produced a fabulous “easy listening” album which was put together by Ted Holloway (Lyrics) and Ken Buckman (Musical arrangements).
Ted has previously published five books of poetry and Ken has worked professionally as a musician, bandleader, and arranger for over 30 years.
The two came together to seek out and combine their talents one afternoon whilst socialising over a cold glass of ale. It was from this meeting that their first successful song was written, namely “Ride him Cowboy”.
This track was played at a local Rodeo before 3000 people and was widely accepted and praised.
The Local Lads primary intention was to write quality material for their own satisfaction and gratification in the hope that established bands or performers may wish to acquire their material for their own promotion.
The “Lads” began to accumulate so much good music and material that they decided to form their group and promote their recording career.
It was then that the Lads decided to continue their vocation and have since written over 60 new songs of various styles and recorded their first studio album.
The current album “Being Country” has already received extensive airplay on radio stations throughout Australia and has been very well received by presenters and listeners alike.
Planning material just keeps coming, from the heart to the pen.
In principal, the Lads work very well together by combing their extraordinary talents because of their love of their commitment and their dedication to succeed in a competitive industry.
Ted and Ken were very fortunate in recruiting the various members of the group as all were well known to each other previously but nobody knew of each other's hidden talents.
It's been an exciting journey so far and we are looking forward to producing further CD albums in the very near future.
